  • Large brownish raptor with yellow eyes and feet sitting on top of the dry reeds. This is most likely a 1st-year juvenile Red-tailed hawk with western light morph coloring (The Sibley Guide to Birds by David Allen Sibley, p. 122) (1/19/2013, Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge)
