Jan. 31, 2018 Total Lunar Eclipse
On January 31, 2018, we had a total lunar eclipse. Photographically this was significant because it was during a super moon (when the moon is closest to the earth and thus looks a little be larger). It was also a blue moon (the second full moon of a month), and having all these items line up together was statistically significant (although visually a blue moon is no different from any other full moon).
